Manny Gonzalez

Head Coach Boys Soccer

Coach González is in his 4th year as head coach of LASA's soccer program and in his 11th year of teaching Physical Education at Austin ISD. Coach González has over a decade of soccer coaching experience and is currently U.S. Soccer Federation licensed.  

​

In 2023, Coach González led the LASA Raptors to their first District Championship Title with a perfect undefeated record of 14-0. In addition, he led the Raptors to a Bi-District and an Area Championship Title.  

 

Prior to LASA, Coach González served as an assistant soccer coach at Bowie High School, where he led an undefeated freshman team in the 2019 season. Prior to that, he coached at Northeast High School for 3 years.

Coach González also worked with several club teams in his hometown of El Paso, Texas. He coached the Clint High School club team into winning the Del Valle Soccer League in 2013.

Coach González started playing soccer at a young age. Growing up in a border city gave him the ability to play in two countries – Mexico and the United States. He walked on for the University of Texas Permian Basin in 2007 (UTPB). He later transferred to the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology.

In his spare time, Coach González enjoys playing soccer at the ACSA coed league and men’s soccer for ATX United at the AMSA Premier League.

Trey Soto
Assistant Coach Boys Soccer

Trey Soto is in his 4th year as JV boys soccer coach at LASA and teacher for Austin ISD.

Originally from the West Texas area, he graduated from Angelo State University receiving his bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology and later his master's degree in Exercise Science from Texas A&M Corpus Christi.

 

Throughout his career, Trey has enjoyed working with students in Special Education at all levels as well as their Gen Ed counterparts.

 

Additionally, he was employed as a trainer with the City of Round Rock, and in his spare time coaches Prime Time sports after school, volunteers with Special Olympics, and competes in Strongman.
